As a singer/songwriter, C. Jae makes music which combines contemporary R&B, Neo-soul, and hip hop, juxtaposing it against electronic and pop elements.

Having inspirations like R&B legends, Musiq Soulchild and John Legend, C.Jae’s musical style seeks to blend rhythm and blues with a pure and real content to connect with his listeners. His music helps illustrate real-life anecdotes and synthesizes them into musical masterpieces.

Who is

C. Jae?

Born and raised in outer west Philly, this self-taught musician was first introduced to music by his father who enrolled him in piano lessons at age 5. Although he did not take to piano, this training helped him develop and ear for music. He continued to strengthen and mold his vocal and songwriting skills throughout high school and college.

He released his debut single "Endless Rain" in April of 2013, but struggled to garner the attention of a mainstream audience. In 2016, C. Jae released a new sound with his debut EP” Home Alone Music" produced by TRACKSMITH. A combination of trap 808s, smooth baritone vibrato and edgy song lyrics, Home Alone Music tells the story of love lost for the new generation. He later released two singles from the Home Alone EP, “Demons” and “L5Y”.

In 2017, with his partnership with REC Philly, C. Jae made a mark with his music performing at not just one, but three large festivals ranging from The Midtown Festival, Octoberfest, and Bloktoberfest. From working with Grammy award Producer Mark Tarsia, as well as being nominated for the Philadelphia Hip Hop award for “Best Male R&B Soloist”, there is no telling where this talented musician will go next.

Amongst releasing a holiday track to wrap up a successful year, C. Jae is far from letting the momentum cool down. With plans to release his sophomore project next year, C. Jae quotes that “This is only the beginning.”, and with this being the genesis for this rising musician, sky is the limit.
